Whoop - Run Boston 26’ Activation
Ahead of the Boston Marathon, WHOOP set out to create a dedicated destination for athletes, creators, run clubs and guests visiting the city during race week. Located within their Boston headquarters and positioned on the final mile of the marathon route, the activation was designed to bring the running community together through a programme of workouts, talks, social events and product experiences.
Working from a vacant shell space, Scratch Creative transformed the environment into a flexible, multi-purpose venue capable of supporting activity from morning through to evening. Custom-built furniture, integrated product displays, full AV production and a branded hospitality offering combined to create a cohesive experience that reflected the energy of race week while showcasing WHOOP's position at the centre of performance, recovery and endurance culture.
Our Role
Scratch Creative was appointed to design and deliver the activation from concept through to completion within a four-week programme. Working within a vacant shell space, we developed a flexible environment capable of hosting daily run clubs, workout classes, athlete panels, live DJs and product experiences. Our scope included creative design, technical development, custom furniture, fabrication, full AV integration, installation and live readiness, with design and build phases running simultaneously to meet the accelerated timeline.
The Result
The completed space became a focal point throughout race week, welcoming athletes, partners, creators and guests as the city built towards marathon day. The flexible layout successfully supported a diverse programme of events while maintaining a cohesive brand experience throughout. Delivered on time and transformed from an empty shell in just four weeks, the project demonstrated how thoughtful design and efficient delivery can create a high-impact environment within an accelerated schedule.
